Room: Sala 3M

The design of a Compact Dual-band Equatorial helix antenna is presented. These antennas are used for Telemetry, Tracking, and Control (TTC) of satellites from the terrain base station. A simulation-optimization process is presented using a simulation tool named MONURBS with the NSGA-II multi-objective algorithm to design and optimize the antenna. The size of the antenna that fulfill the radiation patterns needed by the communications are obtained using the technique described before. The combination of simulation with multi-objective algorithms help us to find the combination of parameters that fulfil the requirements. Comparisons with previous designs and the antenna prototype are be presented.
