Abstract:

The historic Mission Control Center at the Johnson Space Center began operations in 1965 with the Gemini 3 mission.  Since then there have been hundreds of projects to install and upgrade Information Technology in the Mission Control Center.  This talk will explore the Information Technology Revolution of several of the systems in the Mission Control Center.

Bio:

Troy P. LeBlanc is currently the Mission Systems Architect for the Mission Operations Directorate at the Johnson Space Center.  He is responsible for all aspects of the systems and software engineering for the Mission Control Center, Training Systems and User Applications in development and operations today.  Dr. LeBlanc has been a member of MOD since 1992 and has been developing software for the Mission Systems from the beginning of his career.  Additionally, Dr. LeBlanc was a certified space station mission controller for 10 years.  He received a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1992, a M.S. in Computer Science in 1999 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2009, both from the University of Houston.
